Naughty Dog and Sony Computer Entertainment have just released a 13MB file v1.01 patch for Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, which enables new trophy support for the title. The patch is currently only available for PAL territories at the time of writing.

TalkPlayStation.com writes:"Dan_relentless, part of the development team for Buzz has spoken on the Official European Playstation Forums. Dan basically said that he aims to launch Trophies for Buzz before Uncharted. He didn't specify a date but 'hopes to beat Uncharted'.

"We've had a couple of last minute bugs, and some tweaks to do. When trophies become involved you have start ensuring that cheating is prevented, or at least made harder, so there've been a few things like that that have slowed things down.

There are downsides to being one of the first Blu-Rays with trophies going through QA, lots of new rules and tests, and we've included online as well, so it's double complicated.

So no dates, but we still hope to beat Uncharted…""

See, he described the game's style as something akin to... well... porn movies.

What led him to that equation? Well, he was asked if he's seen Uncharted and if the tactic wherein real actors were used to deliver the lines would be the same direction they'll be taking in Heavy Rain.

He further expounds, lest some people get the wrong idea: "Porn movies are structured in exactly the same way, except that the action is not the same (laughter), but it's the same structure. Most video games are done like that."

PS3 - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - Naughty Dog: Uncharted Trophies coming 'very soon' Joystiq's Randy Nelson writes: "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune developer Naughty Dog tells us that a patch to add PlayStation Trophy support to the game will be available by mid-August. Company co-president Evan Wells says that the update has already been submitted for quality assurance testing and could hit sooner.

According to Wells, the patch was "incredibly easy" to implement because the game already contains preliminary support for Trophies via its Medals reward system. He further revealed that these hooks were actually included because Naughty Dog thought Sony would roll out Trophies before Uncharted's November 2007 launch.

As with other PS3 titles getting retroactive Trophy support, Uncharted will require those who've already completed the game to play through again in order to unlock Trophies, even if they had previously earned every Medal. Wells says this is primarily to prevent people from simply using someone else's save data to artificially bolster their Trophy collection. Shame on you for even thinking about it."

PS3 - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - Uncharted rises on Amazon's Bestsellers list, gets some much deserved respect Uncharted: Drake's Fortune didn't debut among the top ten software sales when it released, but six months later it's charting on Amazon's Bestseller's list thanks to being the Deal of the Day. It's not alone, either. The PS3 Blu-Ray remote is also rising the ranks thanks to its limited Lightning Deal status.

This is surprising because 8 of top 10 items are Wii related, which have dominated the Amazon list regularly. For now, Uncharted is finally getting some much deserved sales respect to equal its critical reception.
