PS3 News from N4G | PAIN - PS3 Network
PS3 - PAIN - PS3 Network - PlayStation.Blog: Pain Update, New Trailer Travis Williams, the Senior Producer of Pain, writes on the PlayStation.Blog:

"The reason I am posting now is because we made a new trailer for Pain. We are close to the release date and it's time I stopped talking about Pain and started showing you Pain. This video will show you the six modes of play available when we ship."

"So a common misconception people have when they see Pain is to think it's a 5 min experience. It's so not that way. We're shipping with six gameplay modes that keep you interested for a long time. You'll see very soon."

PS3 - PAIN - PS3 Network - IGN: Pain Is Coming To The Ps3 In this report, IGN states:

"Sony Computer Entertainment has confirmed to us that its bruised PlayStation Network title Pain is slated for release around the end of this month. The hopeful date is November 29th, though as the company works to secure a worldwide release for the title, that date could slip back about a week.

The game is centered around tossing your on-screen persona out of a giant slingshot and into various objects, people, monkeys and more scattered around a city. For extended coverage on the game, have a look-see right here."

PS3 News from N4G | PAIN - PS3 Network
PS3 - PAIN - PS3 Network - Throw yourself off a building Teenagers thrive on random chaos. You don't need an extensive market research report to tell you that. But Sony went ahead and commissioned one anyway, found out that the kids also like creativity, community, competition and other c-words, and the result is a new physics-based "action comedy" game built by Idol Minds called PAIN. It's due out exclusively on PS3 Store this Christmas.

Xbox News | Painkiller: Hell Wars
Dreamcatcher launched a volley of videos at us demonstrating the more hellish aspects of their upcoming shooter Painkiller: Hell Wars. Unfortunately, these new shorts don't quite depict the ultra-smooth action of a bajillion frames per second that Painkiller can pump out, but they do show off the inconceivably massive bosses and other freakish foes you'll encounter on your jaunt through Beelzebub's ...

Xbox News from N4G | Painkiller: Hell Wars
Xbox - Painkiller: Hell Wars - XBox - The Games of Summer 2006 While Microsoft has forgotten about the Xbox and moved on to the 360, uber-publisher Electronic Arts is sticking right with the big black box and releasing three football games this summer. Sure, football's a fall sport, but there is perhaps no bigger event for sports gamers than the release of the next Madden NFL game. Circle August 22 on your calendars. EA is also putting out the next NCAA Football, an IGN office favorite, and NFL Head Coach, the first ever professional football role playing game. It's an ambitious effort geared for hardcore football fans and another way EA is using its exclusive third-party NFL license.

Being the Xbox and all, it wouldn't be summer without a new first-person shooter, and you'll have two good ones to play. Both Painkiller: Hell Wars and Urban Chaos: Riot Response are slated to hit shelves and each offer their own unique brands of gameplay. These titles should be enough this summer while you flip burgers, hoping to save up for a 360 and the games of fall. Did someone say Gears of War? Enjoy the Xbox Games of Summer, 2006.
