PS3 - Lair - Killzone 2 and Lair: More Rumors from supposed Sony Employee Here comes speculation from a previous employee of Sony about Killzone 2. Note his credentials cannot be validated, but he provides this evidence for the truth of his words:

"Just thought I'd post in response to people asking for proof. I'm just passing on information from one of my best friends, who works at Sony. If I had proof, you would have proof.

I agree that it sounds almost unbelievable, but I obviously believe it because I know that he wouldn't lie and works in the environment where this information is available.

For example when I worked there I played on heavenly sword, which was 18 months ago (very early code running on a dev kit, the enemies where either blue or pink), and i played on the PSP well before its release.

But as I said I'm just passing info on..."

This is what he claims to have heard:

"As some may know I used to work at Sony, and I was speaking to a friend still there last night, trying to get some details out of him over a few pints. Now he isn't working on Killzone 2 but he's been told and shown a few things. Here's what he said;

1. He seen a gameplay video. Graphically he said it was better than the E3 trailer, but personally I think he was just a bit over exited because it looked amazing.

2. NPC's react realistically to where they are shot. The example he said is that a Helghast was hit in the hand and it shook its hand as if in pain, and also if shot in the leg blood seeps out of the exact area shot.

3. For multiplayer each server is like a world, with villages and towns, and your battling for control. If Helghast controlled it looks run down, if ISA controlled it looks nice, with residents living there.

He said the game is very far along too."

This previous employee also claims that Lair's GFX are spectacular but the gameplay is lacking.

PS3 - Lair - Lair Release Date Announced Gaming Today Reports:

You see that date up there my friends? That's the date that PS3 owners will be looking forward to because not only does it mean the long awaited, highly anticipated Lair comes out, but it also is the date where the PS3 software "drought" officially ends and the good games begin to roll out.

Not only has the release date been revealed today, but also it's been revealed that we can all expect a Lair demo to hit the Playstation Network sometime in July. Here's hoping it'd happen near the 4th of July. What better way to ring in America's independence by burning up some soldiers and and then eating them while they still cry in agonizing pain.

PS3 - Lair - Lair Release Date Pushed Back to Early August EBgames, Gamestop, and Gamespot are reporting a slight delay in the release of Factor 5's upcoming PS3 title "Lair." This delay is little more than a week, tiny compared to the delays that many games (and subsequently, their fans) have endured. Neither Factor 5 or publisher SCEA have addressed the delay, so save your angry petitions for later.

PS3 News | Lair
We've got yet more screens of the Lair dragons that Factor 5 is always keen to show off. Mid-air scraps, 100-feet-long fire blasts and big stretching scenery are once again the big appeal, but we're puzzled as to why all these Lair screens released of late turn out a little less razor-sharp as we know they could be. As we always remind you, we played the game in glorious 1080p and it looked pretty slick, and that was a while back so we'd expect the final game to look even better when it ...

PS3 - Lair - PS3 price point is Sony Computer Entertainment America boss Jack Tretton has admitted that the PS3's high price poses "a challenge" - but observed that the content available for the console will help to justify the cost.

He said that 2007 would be the year that video game makers will deliver the must-have titles, including 15 exclusives, needed to drive sales of the PS3. He added that it also took time for developers to turn out blockbuster games for the PlayStation 1 and PlayStation 2 -- which dominated their respective console cycles.

The PS3 exclusives include "Warhawk," dragon-combat title "Lair," and Sony's newly released baseball game "MLB: The Show."

PS3 News from N4G | Lair
PS3 - Lair - Factor5 - Lair ONLY possible on the PS3 "The very basic fact is you could not do this engine completely as you see it there on any other system but the PS3.

We got so much physics running, so much animation running, we got the levels with 25,000 soldiers where we have to simulate the army combat which is going on on the ground we got all these dragons being animated of course. To pull of this world scale.

I think it would have been absolutely impossible on any other platform let alone a previous generation."
