This week's new video game releases (US):
Gamer Limit writes: "Atlus has developed a wonderful rapport with the gaming community. The spoils system (packaging extras into games), and the large amount of community interaction have created quite the bond between the publisher and the general public. I'd even make the contention that Atlus is the modern-day Working Designs.
With a few more weeks left before the official release of Knights in the Nightmare, Atlus has put a demo of the game on the Wii's Nintendo Channel.
Atlus U.S.A., Inc. has today revealed something more about Tome of Lost Souls, the pre-order bonus art book for the upcoming Knights in the Nightmare game version for Nintendo DS. Knights in the Nightmare is an astonishing mix of genres and gameplay styles, featuring the amazing works of important designers and illustrators such as Shinichi Ito, Satoko Kiyuduki, Yoshinori Iwanaga, and Sunaho Tobe. Their art is shown off in the beautiful 96-page, full-color art book that will be free for customers pre-ordering Knights in the Nightmare at selected retailers.
Atlus has revealed more information about the pre-order bonus for their upcoming Nintendo DS game, Knights in the Nightmare, as well as new screenshots of the game in action.
TVGB: "Every once in a while I think we should all take a moment and consider what the world would be like without Atlus putting out unique and original games like Knights in the Nightmare. It would be a dark and scary place with smaller genres getting almost no attention and truly creative games coming out far less often. Thankfully, this is not the world we live in and thus we get to eventually play Knights in the Nightmare."
TPG writes, "Knights in the Nightmare looks so complex, innovative and engrossing, that it could be the best DS game since The World Ends With You. Obviously we'll reserve final judgement for June when our review copy lands, but the moniker of "genre-bleeder" is all but guaranteed as it mixes RPG, Strategy, and Shooter elements into one vibrant looking package."
Odds are you haven't heard of Atlus' upcoming strategy RPG Knights of the Nightmare; but these artwork screens should definitely pique your interest.
RPGamer writes: "Atlus has officially revealed the fourth of the five games that Amazon.ca leaked a while back with the announcement of Knights in the Nightmare. This Nintendo DS title defies genre limitations as it is a mix of RPG, strategy, and action in a way never before seen."
