Our sister site Next Generation has compiled a list of the top 100 games of the 21st century. The list focuses on sales - which may mean that your favorite games aren't anywhere near the top. However, when it comes to voting with dollars, this is how it all breaks down. For example, the number 100 game on the list is Ninja Gaiden, which many will agree is one of the best games on the Xbox system, and our beloved Psychonauts probably isn't even in the top 200 - that means it's hardly fair ...

Yesterday, our sister site Next Generation broke an exclusive news story that the Entertainment Software Association was effectively canceling the mega-format of the Electronic Entertainment Expo, otherwise known as E3. The cancellation was due to a number of major publishers pulling out of the deafening annual Los Angeles spectacle. Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony Computer Entertainment America and Electronic Arts all called it quits after the May 2006 event. The simultaneous mass exodus of the ...

Friday 14 July 2006 Both Sony and Electronic Arts passed on the opportunity to turn Brit horror flick 28 Days Later into a game, according to the film's producer Andrew Macdonald. Macdonald was speaking at the Develop Conference in Brighton this week about the crossover between games and films when he revealed there was little interest in the 28 Days Later licence. Many independent developers were tempted by the idea but would need funding to produce it. 28 Days Later was directed by Danny ...

Friday 16 June 2006 GAME, the UK's biggest specialist games retailer, is set to abandon its '10 day no quibble' returns policy, according to industry magazine MCV. GAME's '10 Day Returns' policy currently allows gamers to return a purchased game within that time for a full refund, even if the game packaging has been opened. It really was too good to be true - many a forum-going UK gamer has admitted to using it as a glorified rental service over the past few years. Which would explain why ...

Friday 16 June 2006 The Golden Joystick Awards, one of the longest running videogame ceremonies around, will be taking place in London on 27 October, and here's your chance to influence the outcome. The annual Game Critics Award winners have finally been released, much to the elation and delight of the winners and the certain soul-crushing dismay of those who didn't quite take home the trophy. We would mention how surprised we are that Excite Truck managed to pull in best racing game honors or that Wii Sports has trumped publisher Electronic Arts' sports dynasties Madden and NCAA Football, as well as the NBA 2K series from 2K Sports - but given that Wii managed to pull in best of show, it ...

This year's Electronic Entertainment Expo held more than its share of surprises - however, there are few in this year's Game Critics Award nominee list, released today. We're not sure how Heavenly Sword ended up in the Fighting game category when God of War II is Action/Adventure (the GamesRadar US ballot had them both in A/A), but overall, this is an excellent list of this year's best of the best of the best - at least at this point in their development cycles. The graphically astonishing ...

GamesRadar's more studious, business-focused sibling Next Generation (www.next-gen.biz) has been kind enough to remind us what games we're all slavering to dash into stores and pick up this week. We recommend checking out the NextGen shopping list by clicking here (it'll open in a new window). However, we'd also suggest you should wait until later this week, when you've read GamesRadar's full-sized reviews of each game before slapping down your hard-earned mad money on any particular title. ...

E3. It's the biggest, loudest, most surprising video gaming convention of the entire year, a cacophony of madness that overloads at least three of your senses - sometimes four, unfortunately. It's naturally packed with more games than any one gamer could ever hope to possess and play, but that's where we come in. We've spent hours first playing each and every one we could and then arguing to the brink of violence about which was best. Then, we made lists for ...

Saturday 13 May 2006 While the sound of E3 might still be ringing in our ears, the show is over, the stands have been dismantled and the cleaners are performing the unenviable task of cleaning up the mess left by thousands of men (and a few women). With bleary eyes and saturated synapses, we've compiled a list of our top 20 E3 2006 stories. Not only do we urge you to peruse the fine collection of our most significant show moments listed below, we should also remind you that you can sift ...
