Wii - Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party - School Funds Gaming Gear For Exercise Program The Consortium for Public Education in the US has bestowed a Great Idea Grants to local schools with the projects developed including a Wii Fit and Dance Dance Revolution setup.

The programme running in Brownsville Area High School is called "Wii: Get Up and Move," what they refer to as a "creative solution to the serious battle against obesity and to promote healthy physical activity."

The last time we saw Dance Dance Revolution on the Wii, we were almost killed. Giving game journalists alcohol and then asking them to dance is dangerous enough. Requiring that they use their hands in addition to their legs - as Hottest Party does - should qualify as accessory to murder. 360 - Dance Dance Revolution Universe - Konami Announce Dance Dance Revolution Universe Is this one of Konami's Major Announcements? The was an article about it last Saturday, which told us there will be "earth shattering" news regarding the company and several titles they will be releasing.

Well, now that time has passed and we have seen one of their their games unearthed. The New Title Dance Dance Revolution Universe will be an Xbox 360 Exclusive according to their website.

One of the best features will be the online multiplayer functionality.

"What we can say is that the game will certainly feature similar online/Live features to the Xbox version which was out last year ¿ which allowed up to sixteen people to take part in fun online dance-offs" stated a Konami Rep.

360 - Dance Dance Revolution Universe 2 - Study Says Video Games Can Give a Workout The American Council on Exercise (ACE) put the video game Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) to the test and fond that the game can be a very good workout for children. ACE commissioned the study out of the University of Wisconsin to look at the caloric expenditure of players during the game.

The study used male and female subjects from 12 to 25 years old and half the volunteers were under 18. The study showed that players had a marked increase in exercise intensity as they participated.

Adults burned more calories and on average teens burned 5.9 kcal/min on light, 6.7 kcal/min on standard and 8.1 kcal/min on difficult mode. Test participants used DDR Extreme 2 for the PS2 and a dance pad.
