Bach explained that Games for Windows will benefit both the hardcore and casual gamer, and then introduced a video showcasing a line-up of Games for Windows titles, all of which can be controlled using the Xbox 360 controller.

Games featured in the video included Age of Empires III: The Warchiefs, Supreme Commander, Shadowrun, Alan Wake, Bioshock, Flight Simulator X, The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar, World in Conflict, Hellgate: London, Company of Heroes, Lego Star Wars II, Age of Conan and Crysis.

Also shown was the much anticipated PC version of Halo 2 and a Games for Windows version of Xbox Live Arcade favourite Geometry Wars.

The much touted Live anywhere, that was announced back at E3 2006, has gone onto the operating table and is now known as the 'Live Games and Entertainment Network'. This service will enable PC and Xbox 360 gamers to play together, with games such as Shadowrun and UNO confirmed as cross-platform enabled titles when the service goes live in the summer.

Windows Vista is scheduled for release on January 30 and we're sure to hear much more on Vista/Xbox 360 cross platform gaming in the near future.

PC - Crysis - Crysis In New Delay? Developers Speak. It appears Crysis has been further delayed but no date has been issued.

"There has been a lot of recent talk about Crysis' ship date. I wanted to send out a message to all those who are interested and set the record straight. The game will ship a little later than planned. I want to assure everyone that Crytek are working as hard as we possibly can to deliver this game to our fans and consumers in the earliest timeframe that meets our high quality threshold. Taking the extra time in the studio is the right decision because it helps us be sure that we can bring you the experience you expect from this new game.

2006 has been an amazing year for us and we have had great responses from press and fans coming out of Leipzig in August and E3 back in May. We appreciate all of the interest and comments -- positive and not so positive -- that we have been receiving. Crysis is an ambitious game in so many aspects and much of what we are doing will be a genuine first for the gaming industry: some of this stuff is really hard and just takes time to get right.

We are focussing our efforts right now on getting the best possible experience for the widest variety of PC configs, starting from entry-level PC's up to the hard-core game rigs. Multiplayer is also an area of big focus for us right now, and we listened very hard to our fans. This includes the post-launch modding and community plans. Crysis' core single player is improving all the time - the progress I am seeing from the team right now here in Frankfurt is just staggering.

We are tracking well and trying our very best to release the game as soon as we can but Crytek and EA can't provide a hard date just yet."

Wednesday 5 December 2006 Crysis, the next-gen-tastic PC shooter from Far Cry creator Crytek, will launch "later than planned," as the developer takes extra time to create "the experience you expect" from the stunning jungle-based alien blast-fest, according to Crytek president Cevat Yerli. Tropical alien shooter Crysis was never one to shy away from showing off, and this set of screens comparing real-world reference material to its in-game renderings is nothing if not that - check the Images tab for more. Of course, it helps that the screens are small enough to hide most of their computerized imperfections, but the natural lighting effects aren't to be sniffed at. And if we were forced to pick between a visually perfect jungle that just sat there looking pretty or one that could ...

PS3 News | Crysis
Monday 9 October 2006 Crysis, the spiritual successor to Far Cry and one of the most visually impressive games shown at this year's E3, could make the shift from PC to next-gen consoles, according to developer Crytek.
