PC News | Crysis
Much like a soap opera, it's getting pretty confusing following the twisted saga of Crysis' fate on consoles. We just want to know whether it's coming or not. Some of us pour all our money into consoles, not massive computer updates including new graphics cards or operating systems. What do we know so far? First, thats not how you spell “Crisis.” It is if youre Crytek, creators of the rather beautiful, original PC version of Far Cry. It is, in fact, a rather clever spelling in ...

PS3 News | Crysis
The guy who looks like Spider-Man dipped in tar, packing a handheld tank is the special-ops type you play in Crysis. You are tasked with saving the world from aggressive extra-terrestrials, who've ploughed a pretty big asteroid into a Pacific island's countryside. Your character is dispatched to infiltrate the area, now sealed off by fast-arriving North Korean forces, to find out what exactly put a dent in the Earth's surface, and the first part of the game sees you traipsing through dense ...

PC - Crysis - Crytek: Crysis Will Run on 2-3 y.o. Rigs Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli tells Next-Gen that new technology will allow the upcoming Crysis to run on gaming rigs up to three years old; developer also talks about going "Vista-only" and the transition to DX10, Vista and multi-core processors.

Yerli explains how Frankfurt-based Crytek plans to make the sharp-looking FPS Crysis accessible to a wide audience of PC gamers. "We developed almost all effects to be very scalable for different hardware specs," he says. "Fortunately this is much easier now that we can rely on the existence of hardware shaders. We believe clearly that Crysis will be enjoyed by a large audience that dates back to gamers with two- to three-year-old gaming rigs."

PC News | Crysis
Here's a reason to start saving for that DirectX 10-capable, Vista-boosted power PC - yet more hair-raising action from Crysis, the paradise island-set shooter that will no doubt demand a wallet-pillaging upgrade when it's finally launched, hopefully sometime later this year. Hit the Movies tab and look for "Crysis - trailer 01-31-07" to see the footage, before weeping softly over your paltry single-core rig. And, if you're wondering why we can't seem to mention Crysis without stressing the ...
