"PC mod scene... already in trouble"
President of developer Tripwire airs his views on the breakout of console mod development
While we've got you here, we know you're working on a new game. Anything you can tell us about that at the moment?
Gibson: There's not a whole lot that I can say about that just yet. We'll be using the next generation Unreal Engine 3 (the game engine used for Gears of War). It's some really amazing tech, and we're very excited at all the things we can do with it. I think fans of our first game will be very happy with what we're working on.
The devs at Tripwire Interactive are really into realistic, tactical games, so you're not likely to see us make something that goes against that. Other than that, I wish I could tell you more, but we would like to wait a little while longer before spilling the beans.
