Soon, you’re a grieving widow whose pain is doubled when you get a letter addressed to her and discover she’s not who she claimed and you might just be the only thing that can save the world from war in the Middle East. Bummer, eh?
That’s the plot of Christopher Reich’s novel Rules Of Deception which Paramount and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura have, not without merit, we think, decided it would make a killer thriller pitch. Adam Cozad is the man hired to write the script and with Reich already at work on a follow-up novel, you can almost see the execs pondering its franchise-ability. Variety is checking for snow drifts .
