Al Pacino is to reunite with his Merchant of Venice writer-director Michael Radford for a new adaptation of King Lear.
Producer Barry Navidi and director of photography Benoit Delhomme are also onboard from the 2004 release in which Pacino played Shylock.
Radford has again adapted Shakespeare's tale of an aged, arrogant king, whose decision to divide his kingdom between his daughters turns out very badly for just about everybody involved.
Casting for the other principle parts is now underway, with pre-production scheduled for October and Arclight Films handling international sales.
