I wish ZombieU was somewhere on this list. It's the closest any AAA developer was come to making a good survival horror this generation. Or next generation? I really don't know, but ZombieU's really bloody good

One measly paragraph per page? Come on. I know you want the clicks but even I'm not that desperate to hang with Mr. Cooper for 20 pages.

OK, I have a few questions. 1. Can I play all Wii U games on the gamepad or is that something only for certain games? 2. You said a Wii remote is required for a bunch of games. Are you saying that there are actual Wii U games that require a Wii remote? I really thought I would be able to control everything with the gamepad.

No, not all games can be played solely on the gamepad. For example, ZombiU and certain attractions in Nintendo Land cannot be played on the gamepad alone. Wii Remotes will only be required for multiplayer experiences. For example, Nintendo Land's multiplayer attractions require Wii Remotes or Wii Remote Pluses. As the Wii U only supports one gamepad (two will be supported in the near future), any multiplayer games will either require Wii Remotes or Wii U pro controllers for the other players.

    Got it; thanks!

everyone's saying the basic model isn't worth buying because of the small HDD but honestly you're still going to need to upgrade the hard drive on the deluxe model since its still only 32GB

Hmm, maybe. It depends what you want to do with the system. I don't see myself buying any download games because my understanding is that they are tied to the console, which to me is total garbage. I might be misunderstanding how it works.

Yeah see this is what I don't understand. I almost all of the games on the eshop won't let you download them unless you have an external HDD regardless of model.

"Poorly-organized eShop" My god that eShop.......I keep wanting to look for a "search" button but there isn't even that! Also, you forgot to mention how truly horrible the youtube app is.
  • Redeater - November 23, 2012 12:10 p.m.

I meant Miiverse for that search button crack. But both are truly all over the place. This is why I shouldn't post when I just woke up.

I think it only counts as clicks if the page reloads. Gamesradar articles seem to be using a certain script that allows the content to load without reloading the entire webpage.

"Game that most makes us wish that the Wii U launched with a Pokemon game: Skylanders Giants" I know, you can just see it, finding Pokemon toys to smash into that portal pad thing and put them in your gaming world
  • Lurkero - November 23, 2012 12:53 p.m.

I take that back. Advertisements do reload. That makes the cycle a lot more enticing to advertisers.

I understand why they are just hammering out these pointless articles. They are a business and they to be hype up and pretend not to be bias about a New system or game but man I don't think I have seen a game site struggle so hard to praise this thing. Like seriously There are more praised 'hopes' on this list than actually cheers. All in all from what I have read on this site so far and how not one article really claimed it was an awesome piece of hardware. If Nintendo wasn't paying the bills these article might be a little different especially because of the price point.

I'm trying really hard to be excited over the Wii U, but for everything that seems intriguing to me there is twice as much shit that pushes me away.
  • ObliqueZombie - November 23, 2012 7:54 p.m.

That eShop. O_O Now that you mentioned Pokemon, well... shit. Give me that and a new Super Smash Bros. and LoZ, and we'll be set. I want one almost solely to play older titles I missed out on.
  • powers - November 23, 2012 9:35 p.m.

It's hard for me to get too excited by any system at launch. "Launch lineups" usually depress me. It takes awhile for things to really get going.
  • Theatticusera - November 23, 2012 11:32 p.m.

I agree but for the extra $50 you're getting that extra space, Nintendo Land and some other things too so it seems to be the way to go

'Greatest original Mario launch game since Super Mario 64: New Super Mario Bros U' Yeah, if you ignore the fact its not at all original and a sequal to New Super Mario Bros Wii, which itself was a console version of New Super Mario Bros on the DS... Yeah, completely original...
