Nintendo Switch pre-orders are live on GAME, but check the fine print

If you live in the UK and want to make sure you can get a Nintendo Switch on March 3 when it comes out, GAME has an offer for you - but it's not quite a pre-order in the typical sense. The company still hasn't received an official UK price for the console yet and thus lists a "temporary price" of  £999.99 for pre-orders, though it says you won't actually be charged this amount. The final price from Nintendo will be guaranteed for pre-orders once it's announced.

Update: GAME has since revised the main placeholder price listed down to £279.99.

Here's where it gets tricky: even if you pre-order, you might still not get one:

"At this time we have not received official confirmation of stock allocation, nor of the availability of stand-alone consoles versus console bundles. Until we have our allocation confirmed by Nintendo we cannot guarantee that every order will be fulfilled for launch, nor whether we will be able to offer you a stand-alone console or bundle. We will contact you in the event that you need to choose whether you wish to receive a bundled console."

So, erm, do keep in mind that you still might not get a Switch even if you do successfully pre-order one from GAME.
