Now that basically all the big games of the year are out, the customary thing to is brag about sales. Sony did it for Uncharted 3 and Activision with Modern Warfare 3, but Nintendo held off until after the money party that is Black Friday to boast. Today Nintendo exec Reggie Fils-Aime talked about Nintendo’s big November sales, with Nintendo stalwarts Mario and Link leading the way..

Talking with USA Today , Reggie mentioned that since the November 13 launch Super Mario 3D Land has sold over half a million copies and called it the fastest-selling portable Mario ever. Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword had similar sales, clearing 535,000 copies in the US since it launched a little over a week ago. On the console side Reggie also mentioned the more than 500,000 Wiis were sold on during Black Friday, proving that there are somehow still consumers out there who don’t have a Wii.

Lastly, Reggie stated that one of Nintendo’s prediction earlier this month came true. After saying the 3DS is on track to outdo the first year US sales of the DS now it seems the publisher already has with a few months to spare. Though they didn’t go into too many specifics, Nintendo gives some of the credit to 3D Land, saying 3DS sales rose 49% week-over-week when it came out. With Mario Kart 7 still to be released, the 3DS seems to have really turned a corner, though it’s too early to tell.
