The Three Stooges
released one of the
least funny trailers
in recent memory at the back end of last year, and now they’re back for a second attempt, with similarly iffy results.
This new trailer devotes a bit more time to the film’s plot (some guff about the Stooges having to save an orphanage from Sofia Vergara’s villain), but there’s still plenty of low-rent slapstick and gratuitous cleavage to balance things out.
Take a look at the new trailer below…
That iPhone gag made it round again, then? At the risk of sounding snobbish, we weren't exactly guffawing at this trailer. We don’t know what Jane Lynch and Larry David were thinking when they signed up for this one, but we’re guessing it has something to do with a desire to pay tribute to the original Stooges.
Plus, there’s still something very odd about sandwiching a glut of child-friendly clowning next to lascivious shots of Sofia Vergara’s chest. The Farrelly brothers do like a bit of rudery along with their gags, don’t they?
The Three Stooges opens in the UK on 15 June 2012.
