New trailer arrives for Taken 2: watch now

Taken 2 has released a new trailer which manages to present the audience with a whistlestop tour of the film's revenge-based set-up before hurtling into a series of bone-shaking action sequences in which Liam Neeson kicks all kinds of arse.

The new film sees former CIA man Bryan Mills (Neeson) taking a well-earned holiday with his wife (Famke Janssen) and daughter (Maggie Grace) in Istanbul, when a bunch of kidnappers ruin the party by bundling he and his partner into a car, leaving the poor daughter all at sea in a foreign city.

Fortunately, it isn't long before Mills breaks loose again, finds his daughter and recruits her into a trigger-happy mission to recover Mrs Mills. Nothing like a bit of father-daughter bonding over the corpse of a fallen criminal, eh?

Take a look at the new trailer, below…

We like how this new trailer takes a few seconds to establish the domestic bliss Mills has managed to carve out for himself before all hell breaks loose and the neck-snapping action begins in earnest. It's got to mean something, after all!

Directed by Olivier Megaton and co-starring Rade Serbedzija as the vengeful father of one of Mills' victims, Taken 2 explodes into UK cinemas on 4 October 2012. Let the carnage commence...
