New plot details emerge from Terminator: Genisys

The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly features a major look at Terminator: Genisys and contains some intriguing tidbits as to what we can expect from the film’s plot…

It seems that despite telling a similar story to the original two films, Terminator: Genisys will make several key narrative changes, starting with the notion that Sarah Connor’s parents were both killed by a Terminator.

In their absence, the nine-year-old Sarah was brought up by none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800, meaning that she has grown up to become “a highly trained antisocial recluse”.

“Since she was 9 years old, she has been told everything that was supposed to happen,” says producer David Ellison. “But Sarah fundamentally rejects that destiny. She says, ‘That’s not what I want to do.’ It’s her decision that drives the story in a very different direction.”

Directed by Alan Taylor and co-starring Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney and Matt Smith, Terminator: Genisys will open in the UK on 3 July 2015.
