New, new Donkey Kong Country Returns trailer cranks up the heat

To help quash fears that the Wii's new Donkey Kong Country Returns will cater to the casual crowd, Nintendo has released yet another trailer showcasing some of the game's more heated and hardcore moments.

Mecha-chickens? Killer drums? Desperate platforming sequences and precision barrel blasting? Now this is the sadistically unforgiving Donkey Kong I remember – albeit with a fresh paint of coat and a some intriguing new ideas from developer Retro Studios.

Could this be the Wii's penultimate platformer? We'll have to wait until November 21st to get it on like...wait...can we still say that?

    Hurrah, looks great, I'm going to try and pick this up Sunday!! Also, I'm loving the old school 80's Donkey Kong reference in the background at about 0:50 in the vid... Hope there a ton more like it in the final product!!

    Retro studios knows we want a challenge and DKC is meant for it! DKC was the best and craziest when it comes to platformers and Retro is emphasizing it! Retros making is hard for us gamers while all the casuals can use the super guide like wimps!

    Okay seriously I hate how people say "might buy a Wii just for this game" it sounds pretty pathetic that they think Only 1 game is worth buying a Wii. What about smash bros? Or galaxy? Or Zelda? These comments needs to stop, this game however is epic that a person does need to buy a wii for it :3

    Just found out that if you preorder this you get a T-Shirt. That plus classic gameplay = INSTANT BUY.

    @AngryScotsman Who's offering the t-shirt bonus?

    The music screams "Metroid". Not surprisingly, its the same composer. Not bad at all i might add. Much better that the "jazzy" generic tunes i was expected.

    From what little I played of the old Donkey Kong Country, this trailer seems very reminiscent of it. And it looks pretty challenging. Might pick up this game even though I'm not the biggest Donkey Kong fan. Also, that chicken looks friggin' awesome.

    certifiably awesome

    penultimate means second last, so what did that sentence exactly mean? Anyway, this game looks AMAZING

    Dammit. Can't fuckin' wait. Digging the soundtrack, too. I hope they do a remix of Bramble Blast, or at least use the one from Super Smash Bros Brawl.
