Daisy Ridley hints that Star Wars: The Last Jedi's Luke Skywalker is VERY different to the one we know and love

There’s something off about Luke Skywalker. Maybe it’s a disturbance in the Force, *that* last line in the Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer or another thing entirely - but something is clearly not right with the Jedi Master. Daisy Ridley senses it too, as she opens up about how Rey is going to move forward and train alongside a down-in-the-dumps Luke.

In an interview with MTV, Ridley revealed the similarities between Luke and Rey, but also hinted at a telling change in her new mentor, “There were all these expectations on Luke right from the beginning - this is your calling, this is what you have to do, you have to train. And then clearly something's taken him away. In a way, they’re both similar,” Ridley said, “But she's very much looking up to him to be this thing that she thinks he is, and a long time's passed."

That sounds… ominous. Has Luke’s self-imposed exile on Ahch-To changed him for the better – or for the worse? It’s a question that will be explored, I’m sure, all the way until the zero hour of Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s release in December but, one thing’s for certain, this is not the Luke Skywalker we grew up with. Is this what getting old is like? *sob*
