New Fargo featurette explains differences from the film: watch now

The forthcoming Fargo TV series has released a new featurette online, in which the differences between the show and the Coen brothers film are made nice and clear.

“It’s the kind of movie that lends itself to expanding”, explains star Billy Bob Thornton. “Same place, same type of people… new stuff happens.”

Which sums things up pretty nicely, as the series seems set to maintain the tone and feel of the film, while taking the story off in a different direction entirely.

Take a look at the new featurette, below…

Exec producer Noah Hawley explains that the hope was to create a “movie cast and not a television cast”, and with the likes of Thornton, Martin Freeman, Colin Hanks and Oliver Platt on board, it looks as though they’ve done a good job on that front!

Co-starring Bob Odenkirk, Allison Tolman and Adam Goldberg, Fargo will screen in the UK on Channel 4 later this year.
