Natural Selection 2 releasing October 31

Natural Selection 2, the sequel to the multiplayer RTS/FPS Half-Life mash-up mod, will land just in time for a Halloween bug hunt. Developer Unknown Worlds announced this week that the Aliens-inspired shooter will let the fittest among marines, aliens, and their commanders survive on October 31.

The $30 title remakes the influential mod into a standalone game with an original engine. Commanders set up bases and command forces, marines search out and destroy alien corruption, and aliens morph into different forms to ambush and otherwise devour their human foes.

Unknown Worlds will release Natural Selection 2, its first project as a studio, ten years to the day after its predecessor hit the net.
