As revealed last year, the legendary Hammer Horror film studios are making a comeback this year with their remake of Swedish horror Let The Right One In .
Re-titled Let Me In (lame), the film’s helmed by Cloverfield director Matt Reeves. Oh, and it stars Kick-Ass ’ not-so-secret weapon of awesomeness Chloe Moretz (definitely not lame) and The Road ’s Kodi Smit-McPhee as tortured vamp and tortured kid respectively.
Well, Moretz has spoken a bit about the flick to Movieline . Says the diminutive star:
“The character of Abby…I mean, usually a lot of movies glamorize being a vampire. It’s pretty, it’s cool, you look awesome! The way we did it was that it’s not cool to be a vampire.
“It’s a burden that she has to carry with her, not this fun, cool, interesting thing. It’s scary, deep, and dark, this devil inside of her. The vampire is different than Abby. It’s like her alternate personality, and when it takes her over, she has no control.”
Alright, so we already know this, but at least it sounds like they’re doing this right, even if a remake is misguided. Are subtitles really that difficult to navigate? Apparently so.Will the English-speaking version be any good? Find out on 29 October.
Gonna let this in?
