So you’ve tried playing your computer’s music collection through your Wii, right? Now you want new music. The good folk at www.wiihear.com have made a way to get Shoutcast radio streams - that’s live internet radio for those of you in layman land - playing straight through your Wii’s Opera browser. The use of Mario mushrooms as clickable buttons makes us grin.
Secure your Wii points
If you’ve got a load of points stacked up in the Wii shop, then there’s always the possibility that somebody else in your house might waste them by downloading something that you didn’t really want. To remove this risk, set up Parental Controls in the options menu. Choose a PIN and restrict the internet channel. That’s it - just don’t forget that PIN.
Be a DJ
Somebody has done it. We don’t know how, but there are Japanese DJs controlling light shows and adding horrible squeaky noises to some really bad electro music using the Wii remote, a DS and a PC. Probably sounds a lot better at 3am on a Saturday night than it does in the middle of the week at the GamesRadar office.
Edit Miis on your PC
Exactly why you’d want to do this when there’s a perfectly good Mii editor built into the console is anyone’s guess, but it’s possible. Follow the instructions at this website if you like getting down and dirty with command line interfaces on your PC. - tinyurl.com/37b3g8
