Ubisoft Plans Assassin’s Creed , Splinter Cell And Ghost Recon Films
Ubisoft Motion Pictures, the newly-created film and TV production wing of the game publishing company, is developing 3D feature films based on Assassin’s Creed , Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon , according to Variety . “Our strategy is not to diversify but to bolster the appeal of our franchises; that’s why we want to make sure our films will reflect the brands accurately and consolidate our fan base while expanding beyond the games’ primary target audience… We will have a script ready by the end of the year,” says Jean de Rivieres, senior vice-president of international marketing and distribution. The UMP team will travel to Los Angeles in June to meet with studios about the projects. It has been working with the games” producers and Ubisoft’s marketing team to identify the DNA of each game and come up with storylines that are consistent with its three biggest franchises. Variety also says that Ubisoft Motion Pictures is also developing a 3D CGI series based on Raving Rabbids . The 78 episodes will have a runtime of seven minutes each.
