Mission: Impossible 5 gets new 2015 release date

Fans of Ethan Hunt’s particular brand of daredevilry will have an extra present to unwrap on Christmas 2015, with Mission: Impossible 5 slated for a 25 December release date.

That will see it hit our screens just one week after Star Wars: Episode VII , a remarkable show of confidence by Paramount in its flagship franchise.

Following Disney’s Star Wars announcement, we had expected to see an exodus of films fleeing those Xmas release dates, but it seems Paramount is ready to send Hunt into battle…

Plot details for the fifth film remain non-existent at this stage, but with Iron Man 3 ’s Drew Pearce currently hard at work on the script, we’re hoping for big things from the latest outing…

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie and starring (of course) Tom Cruise, the film will become the latest addition to 2015’s seemingly endless parade of blockbusters. We’re going to need a bigger multiplex…
