Minecraft costs £36million on Xbox Live?! It's good, but it's not THAT good...

Add more Microsoft points? Yes / HELL NO

Minecraft on Xbox 360 is available to buy on Xbox Live Arcade. For... HOW MUCH?! As you can see from our video taken today, the game will require a few more Microsoft points than you've probably got stored in your account. Several million points more. In fact, our estimates put the cost of the game at £36,793,552.87. Yes, that's thirty-six MILLION pounds.

A quick check on our balance reveals we only have 400MS Points in our account, so we've got a little way to go before we can afford it. Now where's that credit card...?

Aw that always sucks when you have your math wrong. Even worse when you flood your cpu with an outrageous loop luckily forks where not involved. Hahaha thats funny thought I be too lazy to check the price too.

And yet a few spoiled kids managed to use their parents credit card to buy it.

So in US dollars that's...about the federal budget for 2012? Eh not too bad.

This game is not even worth 5 dollars to me.

oooooooohhhhh somebody temporarily forgot their ABC's at the 52 second mark, this just won't do. I think I will now depart gamesradar forever due to this tremendous minor mistake which has eternally soiled your reputation as a quality game site. But in all seriousness wait till you see how much it costs in Australia.

Perhaps our video team was thinking in German. You know, 'Meincraft'.

I was just thinking that if this costs 36million pounds, it looks like us Aussies are going to have to fork out a measly 100million dollars. Excellent, and here I was thinking the game would become expensive by being ported onto the Xbox...

This is a pretty epic glitch, but It didn't happen to me, so, yeah...

I do believe there is something wrong here... But seriously how could they fuck up the price that badly? I can see accidentally making it 1800 but damn it looks like they just smashed the keyboard and got a random price!

Probably this guy wrote it up: http://hlcomic.com/index.php?date=2005-06-24

it's set to -1 -> overflow sets it to max value for long unsigned int (2^32-1)
  • FoxdenRacing - May 9, 2012 9:51 a.m.

Right on the money. Microsoft uses -1 for something that's been placed on the service but isn't yet available for purchase.

No wonder Notch told us to pirate it.
