Mighty No. 9 coming to PS Vita, 3DS, next-gen systems

Mighty No. 9 raised more than $4 million dollars via Kickstarter and PayPal when it closed last night, blasting past goals for next-gen and portable appearances. Keiji Inafune's spiritual successor to Mega Man will now arrive on 3DS, PC, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

On top of additional platforms, several stretch goals for enhancing the game itself were met: those for an online co-op challenge mode, an intro stage, an optional retro chiptune soundtrack, and an online battle race mode, among others.

Its grand total doesn't quite top the reigning Kickstarter game king, Torment: Tides of Numenera, which raised $4.19 million on Kickstarter alone, but it's impressive nonetheless. "Mighty Beckers" should expect the game to be completed some time around April 2015, though with all these added features that date may slip significantly.

At least we can play it on just about any console whenever it gets here.
