Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus review

Big Boss is back to recruit a whole new army in this multiplayer-focused expansion

Had it included the full, original MGS: Portable Ops in addition to its expanded modes, recommending Portable Ops Plus would be a no-brainer. As it is, though, its appeal is limited to those who played through Portable Ops and want more, or to those who love playing Metal Gear, but skip through all the story bits. Either way, Portable Ops Plus offers a ton of deep, versatile fun for its $20 price tag; just don't go into this expecting the complete package.

After graduating from college in 2000 with a BA in journalism, I worked for five years as a copy editor, page designer and videogame-review columnist at a couple of mid-sized newspapers you've never heard of. My column eventually got me a freelancing gig with GMR magazine, which folded a few months later. I was hired on full-time by GamesRadar in late 2005, and have since been paid actual money to write silly articles about lovable blobs.
