Matthew McConaughey as Star Wars' Lando Calrissian is blasphemous, but beautiful

We saw a lot of familiar faces in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but unfortunately for Lando Calrissian fans the world over, it was a movie sorely lacking in caped scoundrels with impeccable mustaches.

Thankfully, the Saturday Night Live crew realized this oversight on Disney and JJ Abrams' part, and have shown us what it would be like if Lando had made a return… as Matthew McConaughey. And he's not the only celebrity auditioning for a Star Wars role:

Along with McConaughey's turn as The Most Handsome Smuggler in the Galaxy (sorry, Han, but it's true), I particularly enjoyed Kyle Mooney's impression of Shia LaBeouf and Taran Killam's jab at Joseph Gordon-Levitt. And of course, John Boyega's turn as an "urbanized" Stormtrooper wonderfully mocks critics of his casting.

But seriously, is it too much to hope that McConaughey gets at least a bit part in Star Wars: Episode 8?
