Matt Damon is attached to star in The Adjustment Bureau, a new sci-fi drama being penned by Bourne Ultimatum writer George Nolfi – who will also direct it.
There’s no word on what the exact plot is yet – all we know is that Nolfi has been at work for a few years adapting Philip K Dick(that's him below, in android form)’s Adjustment Team.
Dick’s 1954 short story has an intriguing outline: “Ed Fletcher, a real estates salesman, finds out that our world is really, in effect, one big soundstage controlled by strange and mysterious guardians.” Sounds vey Dark City-like to us.
The film doesn’t yet have a home at a studio – much like the just announced Will Ferrell comedy , it’s essentially a package that has been bolted together by option shop Media Rights Capital, and will guarantee whoever buys it the participation of Damon and Nolfi.
There is one catch – the deal will mean that whichever studio buys it is committed to making the movie, with penalties if it backs out. We’re going to guess Universal might take it, but who knows?
But a sci-fi drama starring Matt Damon and written by the man who helped bring us the last two Bourne movies? Bring it on!
