Marvelous! It's the GamesRadar UK Podcast Question Box

So this is the GamesRadar UK Podcast Question Box. As of right now it's officially a bi-weekly regular. Every other Friday we'll invite you to come inside the GRUK Question Box and leave a deposit. By which we mean leave a question or a comment or an observation or a terrifying intention to love/harm any or all members of the GRUK team. Anything you want really. We will then feature as many of these valued contributions as possible on the following week's GamesRadar UK Podcast. Here's a picture of the GRUK Podcast Question Box™. It might look like a mere empty receptacle right now (because it is), but when it's stuffed to bursting with your questions it will become something quite wonderful:

What should you ask? Why, that is a question for you to answer. We'll be engaging in plenty of that sort of business ourselves in the actual podcast. But you can ask us anything you want that's game-related (or even not game-related if you fancy it, or just plain don't like games and have wandered here by mistake but really like the cut of our jib). If you're stumped for ideas, fertile ground upon which to sow your musings might be Sony's purchase of cloud gaming company Gaikai. Or maybe the recent debate over the Wii U's power between Nintendo's Satoru Itawa and Microsoft's Phil Spencer. Just don't ask about the NiGHTS HD re-release. Justin is just dying for you to ask about that.

Also, as is becoming traditional now, we'll have a guest on the podcast this week. This time round it will be Iain Wilson, PSM3 Magazine's Mr. Trophy. He's a thundering great overlord when it comes to digging out game secrets and beating really hard things, so that might be yet another avenue you wish to pursue.

Either way though, the podcast will be great. But it will be even better if you ask us loads of stuff so that we can answer it.

Put your questions in our box. Via the comments below. And then feel free to peruse our treasury of previous aural delights by way of our archive of ye old past podcasts.

As promised in the podcast, we're answering some of the ones we didn't get time for in the studio in the comments below...

Ill keep this short, what happened to the "ask gr" thing, that actually tought me stuff i wanted to know. I just hope this disorganized, ill thought out, lazy "ask us stuff about us and we may say stuff back" isnt your equivalent of that. If so, for shame.

No - this is purely somewhere folks can contribute to the GRUK Podcast. Ask questions or whatever and we respond on the show. It's not meant as a replacement for 'Ask GR'.

Hello gentlemen. This might be too late to ask, but I'm doing it anyway. Last week, Persona Arena was announced to be the first ever region locked PS3 game. What are your thoughts on this? As someone who had planned on importing the game, I find it a very anti-consumer move, and it seems stupid for a company as fan-driven as Atlus to deliberately prevent certain countries playing the game. A UK release has been announced, but goodness knows when that will be and the worldwide community for the game will have probably dropped somewhat by then. Frankly, it feels like they are mugging us off.
  • Matt Cundy - July 10, 2012 7:53 a.m.

Seemed like a very odd move, but based on the fan backlash Atlus won't be doing it again: http://www.gamesradar.com/ps3s-gone-all-time-without-any-region-locked-games-so-why-has-it-happened-now/ Turns out people don't like to be mugged off.

Hello GamesRadar lovelies, Matt Maloney here. When playing games with large open worlds lots to do in them (e.g. modern Fallouts, Skyrim), how easy do you find it to focus on the main quest? I've sunk 70 hours into Skyrim and most of that has been exploring random caves and killing bandits rather than dealing with the bothersome dragon problem or ongoing civil war. Do you find more enjoyment in creating your own adventures rather than following the one created by the developer? lots of love, xoxo (bum squeeze for Towlie).

Hello chaps. Hope you are all lovely and well. What do you reckon, then, about the EU's ruling this week, allowing the re-sale of software licences? Journoliz that up, biatches. All the best. xoxo http://curia.europa.eu/jcms/upload/docs/application/pdf/2012-07/cp120094en.pdf

Hello Men of GRUK, If on their next console Sony puts a system in place to prevent pre-owend games do you think that would be the final nail in GAME's coffin, since the shops relies so much on pre-owned software? Also who would win in a fight, bubbsy the bobcat or tingle? (to make it fair tingle gets a switchblade). Keep up the good work.xxxx
  • GR_JustinTowell - July 11, 2012 2:13 a.m.

I doubt GAME would be affected too badly as they can still sell redeem codes... plus I don't think they make much money on software anyway. I think there's more money in peripherals etc. I would say 'so they'll be OK', but they clearly *aren't* OK. So... I don't think that would necessarily be the final nail, but there aren't many left to go in. And Tingle would win even without the switchblade. Not because he's particularly aggressive, but because he only has to leave any tiangular object on the floor (perhaps a piece of the Tri-Force?) for Bubsy to step on and the bobcat will deflate and die. That's what his game taught me.
  • Matt Cundy - July 11, 2012 3:03 a.m.

Tingle would tea-bag Bubsy in his stupid bobcat face. I would like to see that made possible in the next Smash Bros please thanks.

Hi Chaps, A question for Justin, I remain unconvinced by the Vita, although I have taken your advice and now have a few more games, Modnation Racers and Montezuma Blitz doing the biz at the moment. What I wanted to ask is what is the best way of playing old Game Gear games without getting the big beast out?(steady Cundy) I have seen the new Sega ultimate handheld system, but I am confused. Is there a new machine that will take the GG cartriges or can I run emulation software on a PC? Legal options please, doesn't have to be portable. Does the 3DS run these games? Would love to play the Disney illusion games, Lucky Dime Caper and Dragon Crystal again. Thanks in advance, Farmer Giles

One more thing you naughty bastards (duck noise) now über update/maps pack cold stream finally has a release date for console left 4 dead 2 players, which is July 24th. do you know if it's free? cos valve are nice like that and wouldn't make you pay for maps from previous games that you probably already have and a user created map, cough activision call of duty. Great pod guys keep it up.

Just wondering if Cundy has cleaned up his sticky bell end from last week. You know, hygiene in the workplace and all that, wouldn't want it its stickiness getting on anyone else. SUPER SPECIAL HUGS FOR EVERYONE!

Hello there. Have you dug up an answer for my question about the wii u gamepad a few weeks ago? If we now hear you struggling to remember i'll take it as a no. Secondly have any of you played the indie game slender? It's free to download and is fucking terrifying so go get it this second and experience the scariest game in years. Xxxx
  • GR_JustinTowell - July 11, 2012 2:24 a.m.

We're still not 100% sure on what would happen. I should imagine for Batman, you'd be able to play the game in a sort of 'classic' mode, where you just have your regular joypad controls and play it on the small screen, with the map brought up by pausing, etc. As for ZombiU... I don't think the experience would be the same without the two screens, although technically seeing as you can only really look at one at a time, it could just show you one or the other depending on which you're supposed to be looking at. Sorry this is just conjecture, but I'm sure Nintendo would want everyone to be able to use the new remote functionality in every game. Hope that helps.

Good morrow to thee men of Gamesradar! This year I finally got hold of a PS3 and have been loving every minute of it but I only just managed to get it online. Which games would you recommend to get me well and truly into competitive online gaming? Keep up the good work! xxxx p.s. Where can I find the first 40 or so episodes of Talk Radar UK? Itunes don't seem to have them and I miss Nathan's voice so very much :(
  • Matt Cundy - July 9, 2012 6:23 a.m.

Old episodes of TalkRadar UK can be found here: http://www.gamesradar.com/talkradar-uk-compendium/ Also, Journey is the only thing I have to say about online PS3 gaming. Not competitive, but essential if you enjoy unique gaming experiences.
