Activision and Marvel have been pretty tight lipped about the plot of the game. Comic scribe C.B. Cebulski shed a little light on what pulls together just about everyone in the Marvel stable. It seems that super baddie (and Darth Vader inspiration) Dr. Doom has discovered a number of unique artifacts that, when brought together, will create the ultimate weapon. Nick Fury gets wind of this and calls in the cavalry to recover the artifacts before Doom is able to take over the world. Cebulski also guaranteed plenty of fun twists along the way.
With more than 20 playable characters and a supporting cast of more than 140, it's a safe bet that anyone who has ever picked up a Marvel comic will find something recognizable in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. Of course, we'll have to wait until November to see if comic fans find enough to demand a new issue, or if the series ends up being doomed to cancellation.
