Marvel picks up its Runaways

Brian K Vaughn is the sort of talented type you’d love to hate if he wasn’t such a nice man. Not content with co-creating Y: The Last Man and working on Lost, he also co-created the comic Runaways with art genius Adrian Alphona.

And now Marvel, still beaming from the success of Iron Man and busily developing its other long-running series, is giving his Runaways their shot at the big screen. Launched in 2002, it follows a group of teens who discover their parents are super-villains, and sees them go on a search for their own identities – and to try and make up for their folks’ evil ways.

Vaughn is busily adapting the script, but there’s no word yet on when Marvel plans to bring it to cinemas. The Hollywood Reporter is tracking down the story .
