Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth Wii U - Developer interview

Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth is coming to the Nintendo Wii U. We've seen the superhero fighting title for the Kinect--working with the off-the-couch motion controls, but now we've had a chance to see how the game handles using the Wii U's GamePad. Want to see Battle for Earth in action? Check out the video below.

Battle for Earth is primarily controlled using the touch screen controls on the GamePad or motion controls via the Wii remote. When using the GamePad, icons display on the controller as your character's special moves. Tapping the icon activates the ability and swiping your finger in patterns shown on the screen unleashes the power on your enemy. Using the touch screen control scheme makes pulling off special moves extremely simple, but it's hard to say how entertaining it will be to continuously repeat the same actions over a long play session. The game will feature a full campaign mode, versus, and arcade mode complete with a roster (Avengers: Battle for Earth roster) of Marvel superheroes and villains.

Marvel The Avengers: Battle for Earth will be hitting store shelves this December on the Wii U and on October 30 on the Xbox 360.
