Love EVE Online? You can win a massive Collector’s Edition

Did you know that EVE Online is 10 years old? Pretty scary stuff. I remember when EVE was just a confused child, wandering around bumping into tables and smashing its parent’s iPhone screens. Well, figuratively speaking anyway. Anyhow, to celebrate 10 years of brutal space combat, CCP has created a limited number of Collector’s Edition boxes, stuffed with EVE goodies. And you could win one.

There are 2 to give away, and each box contains a swanky 190 page book detailing the history of the game, a 4 port USB hub based on the EVE Online ship, a soundtrack CD (of the Icelandic symphony orchestra playing EVE songs), and The Danger Game--a board game created by CCP shortly before it developed EVE. It’s quite the package, and a genuine must-have for fans.

The whole thing is worth £125, but you could win one for free. Just leave a comment below that explains ‘Why I deserve the EVE Online Collector’s Edition…’ and we'll choose the best couple of entries.

Please note that this giveaway is ONLY available to GamesRadar’s awesome UK readers. Sorry, everyone else. Winner will be notified next week.

Why I deserve the EVE Online Collectors Edition? EVE is the hardest game to become part of and equally one of the most rewarding and exciting in the world. There is no other interactive world that comes even close to what EVE has achieved, it speaks volumes that the game regularly has BBC articles written about it. I have been in an out of this game over the years, like a good/bad habit i return time and time again for a few months at a time, equally awed and frightened every time I reload the launcher (having deleted it again!) Its always rewarding, always exciting and this would be perfect to get back into that amazing world again. P.S The Danger Game is gonna go down great at the Carr Christmas Board Game Extravaganza!

Why I deserve the EVE Online Collectors Edition? I have been playing EVE in one of the most active PvP communities - Red Vs Blue and I have explored a decent range of the features EVE has to offer. I have found EVE to be much more enthralling than many other MMO's due to its complexity and amount of things it has to offer. I am fascinated by the Universe EVE is set in and the level of detail CCP has put into each region of space. The collectors edition would give me the opportunity to further explore the universe both in and outside of the game. Also, with the Eternal war raging between Red Federation and Blue Republic the special edition ships may turn out to be a useful asset in the war effort.

I feel that I deserve to win, is as follows. I have never won a competition in my life and EVE online has been one of them games I have always wanted to get into but have lacked the time and/or money but now I feel I have both. Winning this collectors edition will kill 2 birds with one stone winning my first ever competition and being able to join one of the biggest gaming communities in the world at long last, and with it being Christmas you can't beat a good 2 for 1 deal.

Eve online is more than just a game to me. It is a bonding experience for my dad and I. He is the reason I love gaming and have begun to share it with my own children. This was the first game that he and I played together since i was very young. Him being gone every other year due to military obligations made it very difficult for him and I to have much of a relationship. But starting my freshman year I became very interested in making my own computer and he discovered Eve. it was then my dad and I not only built my first computer but began to game together. This game more than any other game holds a particularly special place in my heart. And I am not looking for this for myself, but for my dad, SSG Powell. I love him and what he has done for me and I want this for him.

I was pulled into EVE Online with my friend by his dad, and we proceeded to play for a solid month off our free month trial. But then woe was us when it ran out, and we as poor students bought just a few months to enjoy it for the time we could. I had a Caldari drake. It was called the waffle cart. I loved that ship more than anything on this planet. I think I deserve the collector's edition of Eve so I can be reunited with Waffle cart and we can float out into deep space, together forever. Also, with a name like 'Poobum Arsecheeks' I really need to get on the most wanted list so everyone can see my name.

My name in-game is Xander Phoena and I run the biggest podcast in Eve Online - Crossing Zebras. I would have bought myself the Collector's Edition as I desperately wanted out of nowhere, my car decided it needed a new engine at the cost of £2.5k which has pretty much killed Christmas for me. If you could let me win this, you would make pretty much a million Christmas wishes come true for me :)

Me and my friend used to play the Danger Game non-stop back in the day. It's such a shame the only way to get it now is through thisexpensive package. We lost most of the pieces and my friends dog chewed the game board so much that the narcotics-cyrcle (it's a gameplay feature) was unplayable. Good luck UK people. Give the board game a try if you win. Fun fact about the Danger Game: The man who plays the Grandma character on all the art in the game, Jón Gnarr, became the Mayor of Reykjavk and the dude who plays the Drug Dealer, Sigurjón Kjartansson, became a succesful TV and Radio personality. Being associated with the game seems to bring luck.

Why I deserve the EVE Online Collectors Edition? Because I've been playing since 2003, I ran a popular blog about EVE for about 4 of those years, AND I contributed an essay to the book included in the box and wasn't even provided with a complimentary copy of the book. I win I think ;P
