LOTR Online free update released

Turbine, Inc. released the first free update for MMORPG The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar today. The update, known as Book 9: Shores of Evendim, introduces the titular region, along with 100+ new quests, a raid called the battle for Helegrod, nine new monsters, and "major enhancements" to monsters and music.



The accompanying storyline sets the stage with the Fellowship of the Ring about to leave Rivendell. Aragorn needs to repair the broken sword Narsil, and players are tasked to help Aragorn in searching the new land of Evendim for a jem that must be fit into the hilt of the blade.
