London set for short film fest

Fancy getting in on the ground floor with the next Edgar Wright, Neil Marshall or Christopher Smith?

The Angel Film Festival is bringing the 50 finalists in its short film competition to London and screening them from the 30 July to the 20 August - absolutely free.

Those who have reached the last hurdle have been whittled down from a massive 600 entrants, with every genre covered and entries from experienced short filmmakers as well as first-timers – all will be present and the public will have the chance to meet with them and their cast and crew.

If you attend, you’ll have a chance to cast a vote as to which films should make the final on 20 August.

The showings will take place over four consecutive Sundays at the following venues:

2:00 - 5:00 pm on 30 July: The Garden Public House, 179 Upper St, Islington, London, N1 1RG

2:00 - 5:00 pm on 6 August: Clockwork Public House, 66-68 Pentonville Road, London, N1 9HS

2:00 - 5:00 pm on 13 August: The King's Head Public House, 115 Upper St, London, N1 1QN

Then, on 20 August, a final awards ceremony will take place 1:00 - 4:00 pm at Vue Cinema, 36 Parkfield Street, London, N1 0PS .
