London Film Festival 2012 line-up revealed

The line-up for the 56th London BFI Film Festival was announced today, filling the gaps between the already announced opening and closing films ( Frankenweenie and Great Expectations respectively).

So, what titles have piqued our interest? Riding high on our must-see checklist are Martin McDonagh’s In Bruges follow-up Seven Psychopaths , Michael Winterbottom’s Everyday and Hyde Park On Hudson (mainly because it casts Bill Murray as President Franklin D. Roosevelt).

The LFF will also give film fans in the UK the chance to catch movies that have gone down a storm at international festivals. Among those we’d heartily recommend are Michael Haneke’s Amour , and Sundance smash The Sessions .

If you fancy something a little more blockbuster-y, Ben Affleck’s Argo will be on hand to dish out thrills, and if you want something defiantly feelgood, The Sapphires is a good bet.

And if you want something homegrown, head for My Brother The Devil and Sightseers .

The 2012 London Film Festival runs from 10 - 21 October.
