Xbox 360 isn't exactly short of first-person shooters, but a surprise X06 announcement tells us Doom, the genre's granddaddy, has hit Xbox Live Arcade.
Available now over the service, all four of the original Doom episodes (yes, four, including Ultimate Doom's Thy Flesh Consumed) can be played with up to four-player co-op. And, because it's the game that coined the term 'deathmatch', there will be four-player killfests so you and your friends can slaughter each other - which will likely take some adjusting to since this game came way before the days of quad-camping rocket hogs and dual-wielded Needlers.
In other Live Arcade X06 news, five new Arcade titles (including the sequel to Mutant Storm) will be released before the end of the year, as well as Lumines Live and four retro titles: Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Defender, Contra and Gyruss.
