Live-action Phoenix Wright movie set for spring 2012

Director of Ichi the Killer to take charge of film adaptation

Following news that Ichi the Killer director Takashi Miike is working on “a court drama, based on a videogame” for the Nintendo DS comes an official announcement from Capcom confirming that a live-action Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is in production and scheduled to release in Japan in spring 2012. As expected, the movie will indeed be directed by Miike, who is known for creating exceptionally ultra violent and disturbing films.

Actor and model Hiroki Narimiya will take on the role of ace attorney Phoenix Wright (Ryuichi Naruhodo). Takumi Saito, who starred in Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl will be playing Wright’s gentlemanly rival Miles Edgeworth (Reiji Mitsurugi). Last, but not least, comes Mirei Kiritani, who will be playing Wright’s assistant Maya Fey (Mayoi Ayasato).
