Lee Pace in talks to play Guardians Of The Galaxy villain

Guardians Of The Galaxy is on quite the recruitment drive, with Lee Pace in line to follow Michael Rooker and Ophelia Lovibond as the third new cast member in less than a week.

The Wrap reports that Pace is currently in talks to play the villain of the piece, having previously tested for Chris Pratt’s role as Star-Lord.

As to who that villain might be, well sadly we’re none the wiser, although The Controller has been named as a possibility by various online commentators.

We know that Thanos is to be involved in proceedings in some way, and The Controller is one of his primary henchmen, a mechanical engineer specialising in mind control and sporting an armoured exoskeleton.

At this stage, that’s just a rumour, but we’d expect the primary villain to be related to Thanos in some way, and The Controller would certainly fit the bill…

Directed by James Gunn and co-starring Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista, Guardians Of The Galaxy will open in the UK on 1 August 2014.
