Yeah, this is a thing that is happening. As part of the upcoming DLC push for their rather delightful downloadable Tomb Raider Game, Crystal Dynamics are soon to release two downloadable character packs, one of them set to comprise of everyone's favourite sociopathic heist-merchants. While it's obviously a (hopefully) last, desperate attempt on behalf of publisher Eidos to make people care about Kane & Lynch, this does bode mass comedy potential. Even better, there's also the promise of a second pack, bringing back Raziel and Kain, of the supremely why-haven't-we-got-another-sequel-yet Soul Reaver series.

There are new challenge packs coming too, but seriously, Raziel and Kain...

Anyway, here's the first, big, high-res screen of Kane and Lynch doing their Tomb Raiding thing:

The video is of an unfinished version of the DLC, so we're hoping that the lack of new voices is a result of its incomplete state rather than of lazy developers. Actually, we're not. This is hilarious, and it should stay like this. While you take all of this in, excite yourself further with the first new Raziel footage you've seen in seven years:

    @bass88 I called it the "Kane and Lynch" hate-bandwagon because even though Kane and Lynch 2 sucked something fierce, before it came out people jumped at the chance to hate on the characters and the game as a whole. More than normal, anyway. I couldnt agree with you more about people having different opinions, but its hard to look past other comments that are as you said "I don't like this, therefore it is stupid" On the other hand, on the internet we are all guilty of this at one time or another. Its like a sin that we can never be forgiven for.

    @ EvidentDead I have nothing against people hating the Kane & Lynch games. I have major problems with them too. I also have nothing against people disliking Kane & Lynch as characters as well. Opinions differ. What does confuse me is this strange attitude that some gamers have taken towards them. This "I don't like them and therefore they should never be explored again!" attitude. If these people were in charge of quality control we'd never have the morally-complex works of Sam Peckinpah, Stanley Kubrick, Michael Mann and James Ellroy because they would take offence to The Wild Bunch, A Clockwork Orange, Heat or American Tabloid.

    Ah the only Kain more sadistic than Kane...Damn...we need a new Legacy of Kain game,complete with the original voice actor.Blood Omen will always be one of me faves XD

    @ db1331 I like Kane & Lynch. My friends like Kane & Lynch. We believe them to be rather interesting characters. I'd even go as far to say that Kane & Lynch are perhaps some of the best written characters in video-game history. However playing the games isn't all that interesting. It is bloody monotonous. They should introduce more stealth elements (proper stealth, like Hitman or Thief) and maybe some car chases.

    Never mind. I typed that other comment after reading the article, but before I watched the video. This looks stupid as Hell. Kane and Lynch look like they are in a 90's cartoon in which they were sucked into a TV, and getting caught up in a bunch of adventures. Horrible. I don't understand...

    I dont see anything wrong with Kane and Lynch as video game characters. They are far more interesting than some much more popular ones. However, I think they are target to horrible direction/script writing when it comes to actually fleshing out a playable game. Nobody will disagree that dog days was a horrible game in any way, shape, or form. Id like to see ONE last try (with someone completely different behind the captains wheel) at making a Kane and Lynch game before they should be scrapped to the junkyard. to the article, I think its pretty neat. I think its neat when developers throw in some crazy stuff for fans of their work.

    UGH. When will they give up on Kane & Lynch? Nobody likes these characters or finds them to be even close to interesting. I mean K&L: Dog Days was just on sale on Steam for $5, and I still lol'd when I saw it. BURY THESE GUYS.

    It is indeed awesome to see that they remember Raziel and Kain! I may have to buy this game now just to support them... However... WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH KAIN's FACE?! It's like he's trying to contain a massive laugh and failing...

    I welcome Raziel and Kain, good to see them in "a" game, shame it's not their own, but good to know they still remember they have these characters, also Guardian of Light is an awesome game

    I was hoping for more levels and death traps than just a skin change. This game is fun as hell with a friend.
