Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance - Spirit guide

Zolephant

One of the largest Spirits in the game, Zolephant will stomp Nightmares into dust. Thankfully, there are no mouse-based Spirits, so Zolephant won’t be running away any time soon.

Ingredients:

  • Troubling Fantasy (2) + Dulcet Fancy (4)
  • Troubling Fantasy (2) + Dulcet Fantasy (2)
  • Malleable Fantasy (1) + Dulcet Fancy (4)
  • Malleable Fantasy (1) + Intrepid Figment (4)

Recipe: Obtained by Sora during the La Cite des Cloches story.

Link Attack: Berserker Bronco. Sora rides on Zolephant’s back as it stampedes around. Charge into enemies to deal heavy damage.

Link Style: Wavesurfer. Riku rides a surfboard and uses it to strike enemies.

Juggle Pup

The token circus seal of the game, Juggle Pup tosses playing dice about. If you see some doubles flying at you, watch out.

  • Vibrant Fantasy (2) + Epic Fantasy (1)
  • Vibrant Fantasy (2) + Fleeting Fantasy (2)
  • Vibrant Fantasy (2) + Wondrous Fancy (4)
  • Vibrant Fantasy (3) + Wondrous Fantasy (3)

Link Attack: Luck Dice. Sora and Juggle Pup each roll a die. Every pair of sides has a different effect.

Halbird

A beefy bird of the sky, Halbird will dominate the air in any fight.

Ingredients:

  • Lofty Fancy (4) + Epic Fantasy (1)
  • Lofty Fantasy (3) + Prickly Fantasy (1)

Recipe: Can be purchased from Moogle Shops once you reach Symphony of Sorcery.

Link Attack: Fly-by Knight. Sora glides around the battlefield with Halbird on his back. Charge into enemies to deal damage and use the Fly-by Knight command for extra impact.

Link Style: Shining Hammer. Riku attacks with fast light-based strikes.

Staggerceps

Though the Staggerceps’ constant defending is a nuisance when battling it, having one on your side is invaluable.

Ingredients:

  • Grim Fancy (3) + Fleeting Figment (4)
  • Grim Fancy (4) + Lofty Fancy (3)
  • Grim Fantasy (3) + Fleeting Figment (4)
  • Grim Fantasy (3) + Epic Fantasy (1)
  • Noble Fancy (6) + Intrepid Fantasy (2)

Recipe: Found by Riku in a chest atop a wooden platform in the central-eastern section of the Backstage in the Country of the Musketeers.

Link Attack: Trap Shot. Sora hops on Staggerceps’ back and uses it as a turret. Aim your crosshairs to damage enemies, and use the Trap Shot command for more damage.

Link Style: Fire Raid. Riku battles with a variety of flame-based attacks.

Fishboné

Fishboné is the cyborg – yes, cyborg – form of Fin Fatale. If you see lasers flying across the battlefield, they’re from this guy.

Ingredients:

  • Noble Fantasy (2) + Wild Fantasy (2)
  • Wondrous Fancy (3) + Rampant Figment (6)
  • Wondrous Fancy (3) + Rampant Fancy (5)
  • Wondrous Fancy (3) + Prickly Fantasy (1)

Recipe: Can be purchased from Moogle Shops once you revisit Traverse Town.

Link Attack: Water Blaster. Sora uses Fishboné as a super soaker. Aim the water jet at enemies to deal damage.

Link Style: Darkest Fears. Riku attacks with claws on his hands and feet.

Flowbermeow

Though it’s just a glittery palette swap for Meow Wow, Flowbermeow will mess with Nightmares by warping around the battlefield.

Ingredients:

  • Malleable Fantasy (3) + Fleeting Fantasy (2)
  • Malleable Fantasy (2) + Brilliant Fantasy (1)

Recipe: Won in a Portal Link challenge.

Link Attack: Meow Wounce. Sora leaps onto Flowbermeow’s back, and Flowbermeow bounces around the battlefield, dealing damage to enemies he hits.

Link Style: Shining Hammer. Riku attacks with fast light-based strikes.

Cyber Yog

An electronic version of Yoggy Ram, Cyber Yog will use its data-based powers to erase Nightmares from the battlefield.

Ingredients:

  • Noble Fancy (3) + Grim Figment (4)
  • Noble Fancy (3) + Grim Fancy (3)
  • Noble Fancy (3) + Fleeting Figment (3)
  • Noble Fantasy (2) + Grim Fancy (4)
  • Noble Fantasy (1) + Lofty Fancy (4)

Recipe: Found by Sora in a chest in the northwest section of the Rectifier 2F in The Grid.

Link Attack: Whirling Bronco. Sora Rides Yoggy Ram around the battlefield, damaging enemies as he runs into them. Use the Whirling Bronco command to spin attack for extra damage.

Link Style: Thunderstorm. Riku battles with a variety of electricity-based attacks.

Chef Kyroo

Chef Kyroo is a frog that battles with a frying pan. In France, his name is “irony.”

Ingredients:

  • Wondrous Fancy (3) + Noble Fancy (3)
  • Wondrous Fancy (3) + Troubling Figment (8)
  • Wondrous Fancy (3) + Intrepid Fancy (4)
  • Wondrous Fancy (3) + Malleable Fantasy (1)

Recipe: Found by Sora in a chest behind a breakable pile of crates in the northern section of the Dungeon in the Country of the Musketeers.

Link Attack: Decussation. Sora and Chef Kyroo go back to back. Tap the Decussation command to deal damage to targeted enemies.

Link Style: Fire Raid. Riku battles with a variety of flame-based attacks.

Lord Kyroo

Possibly the toughest Spirit out there, Lord Kyroo will fight by your side more fiercely than most other Spirits.

Ingredients:

  • Brilliant Fantasy (2) + Noble Fancy (5)
  • Brilliant Fantasy (3) + Noble Fantasy (2)

Recipe: To obtain Lord Kyroo’s recipe, you must defeat him. He appears in three places: at the altar in the Nave in La Cite des Cloches, at the bottom of a rocky slope in the Promontory in Prankster’s Paradise, and on a ledge in the eastern section of Moonlight Wood in Symphony of Sorcery. He retains the same HP you left him with in every encounter, so defeating him shouldn’t be difficult. Just be sure to ignore the other Nightmares that clog the battlefield and focus on taking him down.

Link Attack: Decussation. Sora and Lord Kyroo go back to back. Tap the Decussation command to deal damage to targeted enemies.

Link Style: Thunderstorm. Riku battles with a variety of electricity-based attacks.

Tatsu Blaze

The fiery version of Tatsu Steed, Tatsu Blaze fills the battlefield with its fiery breath.

Ingredients:

  • Grim Fancy (3) + Lofty Figment (5)
  • Grim Fancy (3) + Rampant Fancy (3)
  • Grim Fantasy (3) + Rampant Fancy (8)
  • Grim Fantasy (3) + Charming Fantasy (1)

Recipe: Can be purchased from Moogle Shops once you revisit Traverse Town.

Link Attack: Fire Blaster. Sora hops onto Tatsu Blaze’s back. Use the Fire Blaster command to shoot fireballs at enemies.

Link Style: Fire Raid. Riku battles with a variety of flame-based attacks.

Focus on changing your Spirits' dispositions - it'll open up new paths. Also, there are no unique actives, as they can all be found or purchased.

Insanely helpful guide - wish I would've had it when I played through the game!

My only questions is does anyone know exactly locations the ingredients are found?

Buying from Moogle Shops and enemy drops are the most common ways. Otherwise, spamming the Link Portals is your best bet. Some ingredients can be found in chests, though.

What are you talking about? It is by FAR not the worst game Nintendo came out with, and it's great. You just hate it because you're bad at it. Also, learn English. Yours is atrocious (which means horrible, in case you didn't know).
