Katamari Damacy sculpture shows Atlas a thing or two

Bronze sculpture of the Prince holding up a Katamari ball looks amazing

Flicker user Everfalling has just posted some impressive photographs of a bronze sculpture he created for a project at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California. “The sculpture is 9 lbs. of cast bronze, 8" tall, with a liver of sulfur cold patina base on both pieces and then a cupric hot patina on the Prince,” explains Everfalling. We have no idea what most of that means, but it sounds cool.

It’s also cool that the Katamari ball was designed to balance on the arms and back of the Prince on its own. “This was an aesthetic choice because it’s really cool holding the ball on its own…” says Everfalling.
