Josh Trank says Fantastic Four is "huge, multipower slugfest"

Much of the recent promotional material for Fantastic Four has attempted to play up the large-scale action of the forthcoming blockbuster, with director Josh Trank following suit by describing the film as big in every sense of the word.

"The audience should expect an epic, massive, huge, multipower slugfest,” said Trank in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “This movie is big. A lot of stakes." That said, it's not necessarily going to be a barrel of laughs for the titular quartet…

Chronicle was all about the discovery and evolution of those powers,” says Trank. “This is like, ‘What if it’s a couple years later and it sucks?’” Sounds like that "grounded" approach hasn't entirely been cast aside in favour of explosions and mayhem then… Co-starring Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell and Miles Teller, Fantastic Four will open in the UK on 6 August 2015, and the US the following day.
