Josh Hartnett goes vampire hunting

Josh Hartnett must like films with numbers in the title. He already has Halloween: H20, Lucky Number Slevin and 40 Days And 40 Nights under his belt and his maths fetish will continue with 30 Days Of Night.

30 Days is adapted from Steve Niles’ comic, which finds a group of bloodsuckers arriving in the remote Alaskan town of Barrow, where the sun doesn’t shine for almost a month. Endless night: vampire feast!

The man wrangling the vamps will be Hard Candy director David Slade, so we’re already excited that this will be one to watch. With scripting assistance from Niles, Candy writer Brian Nelson and Collateral’s Stuart Beattie, the movie will see Hartnett’s local sheriff and his wife – who Slade is busy casting – facing off against the fang club.

The cameras roll in New Zealand in August.
