Jeremy Renner and J-Lo join Ice Age Continental Drift

Jeremy Renner’s busy slate just got even busier, with the actor signing on to voice a character in the fourth Ice Age movie.

Renner’s post- Hurt Locker winning streak has so far consisted of a high profile role in the new Mission: Impossible as well as in The Avengers and the rebooted Bourne franchise.

That said, we assume the core audience of Ice Age have never even heard of him. They’ll probably have heard of Jennifer Lopez, though, who has also joined the cast, alongside Wanda Sykes and Aziz Ansari.

Renner will reportedly voice Gutt, who THR describe as “a self-styled master of the high seas”, while J-Lo will play Shira, a sabretoothed love interest for the similarly-furry Diego.

Returning cast members include Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, Seann William Scott and Josh Peck.

Ice Age: Continental Drift opens 13 July, 2012.
