Is Blizzard biting Valve?

Blizzard recently released patch 1.13 for Diablo II. Regular players will be particularly interested that the game’s ladder will be reset. Scroll further through the patch notes, and you’ll also see the usual bug fixes and tweaks to game balance. But if you’re like us and haven’t touched the game in years, there’s also an incredibly enticing addition to the game teased in the notes. Check it out below.

A new Mystery has been revealed!

- Adventurers of Sanctuary are hereby warned once again, that a new challenge
awaits you. Within Diablo's Bosses, spanning across the world from the
ancient Monastery Catacombs to the Throne of Destruction, is where you'll
find what you seek...

Above: Five adventurers ready for the best thing since the secret cow level

What could this new 'Mystery' be? The capital 'M' clearly signifies the mystery's importance, and it sounds like the answers lie in the corpses of the game’s many bosses. Perhaps Blizzard plans on threading this mystery into the lore of Diablo III, which reminds a lot of some of the recent changes Valve’s made to the original Portal in order to build hype for Portal 2. Whatever the case, it sounds like today will be a good day to reinstall Diablo II and the Lord of Destruction expansion to check it out.

Eh, pretty cool, I have no problem with others devs starting to copy Valve on any level.

Does the chat gem actually do anything when you click on it?

Yeah, they have the standard of Heroes and the chat Gem, I am skeptical how cool this new mystery is. F.I.R.S.T.
