Iron Man 3 character poster for Ben Kingsleys Mandarin

Marvel has upped the promotional ante on Iron Man 3 by revealing yet another character poster: this time, it’s Ben Kingsley’s Mandarin.

Disney have just emailed us the super-exciting new poster, which showcases the brooding big bad of the piece. Slouching casually on his throne, the one-sheet gives us a chance to examine his unique get-up in closer detail.

Hinting at the character’s Chinese origins from the comic-book lore, his outfit pairs a silky-looking kimono with grubby, dragon-embroidered military fatigues.

In fact, dragons abound in the poster, decorating the walls of the Mandarin’s dungy hangout.

And those sunglasses he’s sporting? They look an awful lot like Tony Stark’s…

Here’s the official blurb:

Mandarin is the sinister head of the terrorist organization known as The Ten Rings, from which all the acts of extreme terrorism plaguing the world appear to emanate. Although he is reclusive, Mandarin wields great power and makes his presence known by striking fear in the government and the populace through his brazen plans of attack.

Directed by Shane Black, Iron Man 3 opens in the UK on 26 April 2013.
