Iron Man 3 adds a new villain, and Jon Favreau returns

Iron Man 3 has added another villain to its growing ensemble, with former Sunset Beach star Ashley Hamilton set to join the cast as Jack Taggert, otherwise known as Firepower.

In the Marvel universe, Taggert is the pilot of an experimental bodysuit designed by the programme, Project: Firepower. Typically, Taggert doesn't have his hands on Stark technology for long before wanting to use it against its creator…

With James Badge Dale also in line to play a potential villain in the form of Coldblood, and Ben Kingsley already in place as the film's big bad, we're keeping our fingers crossed that Shane Black doesn't stray into S pider-Man 3 territory with this one.

In other casting news, former director Jon Favreau has confirmed he'll be reprising his role as Happy Hogan, Tony Stark's driver-cum-bodyguard, so perhaps he'll be able to lend some advice as to how to juggle so many villains.

Iron Man 3 will open in the UK on 3 May 2013. Let's hope that's the last of the bad guys for this movie at least...
