I loved Fez, happy to see it win here. That said, Mutant Mudds looked absolutely sweet, and I don't feel comfortable crowning Fez as my personal indie of the year until I've played MM.

But for real, when can we expect the old website design back?

Man, Lone Survivor gets like no recognition. That game was awesome.

YES! I was right! Fez is FTW! God, what a great game. More than a game, an experience. Man. Just mind-blowing.

Dustforce isn't some kind of grand adventure or statement, but it's one of the best and most unique platformers in a while. Anyone who dismissed it as a Super Meat Boy knockoff just from seeing pictures is a moron.

All these games were awesome, especially Hotline Miami and Fez. Frankly, im rather happy Mutant Mudds even GOT recognition and being a Nominee, that games been so damn ignored until now!

Fez was phenomenal, Dust would've been my second pick. Fez had me thinking in ways I had never imagined before. Bravo Polytron!

Out of all those amazing games mark of the ninja would be my indie game of the year.

I honestly can't decide between Hotline Miami and Legends of Grimrock. I loved Hotline Miami because I am a huge fan of Manhunt and have been hoping for a next-gen one- however, I can stick with a 2D pixel. I however love a good dungeon crawler and one that plays like Ultima Underground is a sexy game indeed. I will go with both.

Of the games I played, Fez was the best overall, however I think the second playthrough of Mark Of The Ninja was my favorite gaming experience of the year.

I would have picked Grimrock. That game was merciless when playing on anything above easy.

This is a joke, right? Fez?
  • Rub3z - December 13, 2012 12:56 a.m.

    Idiot.

You can't even lose in Fez. How am I suppose to play a platformer game were failure isn't an option? Or a puzzle game were I can never fail? Suck my dick. Choke on it.

Hotline Miami. I picked it up last week when Steam had it on sale, and I've got to say, it's probably the best $5 I've spent all year. Even if the story doesn't make much sense, the gameplay is so much fun and rewarding.

This list needs 30 Flights of Loving, that was one of the few games I've played that really knows how to work storytelling into this medium. If i had to pick from this then I'd have to say for the tactical gameplay and cool aesthethic.

Whoops forgot to mention the game, Hotline Miami.

Fez was amazing. Unfortunately I haven't played most of these so I can't really say which was actually the best.
